On October 1, 2023, Prof. Dr. Ina Danquah was appointed as Hertz-Chair "Innovation for Planetary Health" at the Transdisciplinary Research Area (TRA) "Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Futures." She is also Director of the Center for Development Research (ZEF) and heads the Division "Nutrition and Planetary Health".
Prof. Dr. Ina Danquah studied Nutrition Science in Potsdam and Accra, Ghana; she received her doctorate from the Institute of International Health at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and completed her MSc in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
Prof. Dr. Ina Danquah and her team are developing strategies to combat the impacts of climate change on human nutrition and are creating measures for climate change mitigation that have co-benefits for nutrition and health. These strategies are evaluated in population-based studies within the framework of international collaborative projects to determine their effectiveness and impact pathways.
Prof. Dr. Ina Danquah teaches at the University of Bonn in the MSc in Nutrition Science, MSc Agriculture and Food Economics (AFECO), MSc Global Health and at Bonn International Graduate School for Development Research (BIGS-DR).
